Reflections and Concerns...The Aftermaths

Still fresh from the memories of the successful attempt of Lucy's induction into the empire of the un-dead, I trudged alone in the near-darkness...the dim glow of the moon being the only light source for miles around. Walking along the empty streets of Transylvania, I breathed in the fresh and invigorating air of the cold winter night and let my thoughts wonder, and flashback scenes of the attacks on Lucy and other children played out like a movie in my mind's eye. Upon discovering how much unwanted media and vampire slayers' attentions have been aroused by the recent incidents, I have decided to call for a meeting with the other vampires to discuss possible measures to be taken to protect ourselves from a potential attack by our long-time nemeses, the vampire slayers. With the future of the Kingdom of Vampires at stake, I just could not sit back and callously allow the demise of our empire occur, especially not under the incursion of the human race, who has always thought so highly of themselves.

My walk soon broke into a run, and given the agility and speed that we vampires possess, I was soon back at the headquarter of the vampires - an old, rundown castle, one that would be of little interest to most passing human beings, which thus makes it a desirable place for covert meetings to be held. Once the leaders of the vampires from the different parts of the world have made their discreet appearances, the meeting commenced. Sitting next to me was the much respected Count Dracula, the leader of the un-dead. As I stood up, the initial clatter was soon replaced by deep silence, and tranquility embraced the castle. Amidst the stiff air of the castle, I addressed my fellow vampires.

An extract of it is as follows: "...a fierce battle with the vampire slayers may prove to be inevitable. Following the attacks on our newest member Lucy, and the other children, unwanted attentions have been drawn to us. The vampire slayers have stepped up their pace of hunting us down, and I fear that it is only a matter of time for them to seek out and eliminate the entire cohort of vampires. As much as I would like to underestimate them, their addition of new weaponries and latest technologies which have been used to deal with us specifically has changed my opinions of them. We must be wary of them, and I propose that we should lie low for a period of time, reducing the frequency of our attacks to the barest minimum for now. I have news that several vampire slayers are currently lurking in the vicinity, prowling along the outskirts of Transylvania, where many of us live, therefore, we should be more cautious in our movements and not try to fight them head-on...We will regain the upper-hand someday I'm sure, but now is not the time, now, we have to constantly watch our backs..."

After my speech, there were mini discussions and whisperings amongst the vampires present. They looked concerned and seemed to agree with me. However, Count Dracula, charismatic as he always is, had a different opinion from mine. Not only did he disregard all that I had just said, he even condemned me for coming up with "such foolish ideas". He felt that restraining our attacks now would only portray us, vampires, as weaklings against the pathetic human beings. He added that our kind would be humiliated if we were to display our fear for those useless human beings, who had never, in the history of the Kingdom of Vampires, been regarded as a threat to the much more powerful vampires before, and we would only be a disgrace to our ancestors by starting a trend as such. He concluded that anyone who dares to act without his orders and devise a plan to deal with the vampire slayers against his fiat would face the consequences...and he would not show any mercy in executing the punishment...Without giving me another chance at any further explanation or rebuttal, he was gone in a flash, and together with him went the rest of the vampires...

Standing in solitude in the huge but empty living room of the castle, I was crestfallen. Never did I imagine that Count Dracula, the man whom I have always held in the highest regard, could actually put me down in front of so many other vampires in such a demeaning manner. In fact, I saw how most of the others present were equally shell-shocked like I was. Realisation hit hard: All along, I was but a puppet under him. I did whatever he had assigned me to do. I had faithfully fulfilled the tasks to my best ability, and all that I have done till this day was in the best interests of the Count Dracula himself, and the Kingdom of Vampires. I thought that my talents and contributions were finally recognized by him, and that I would make full use of my chance to prove my worth to him through this meeting. However, it was not to be. The image of him condemning me, all his actions and every single word that he had said would live on in my memory...the pain, like a stake driven in deeper with each uttered word into my heart, seemed as if it could never subside.

After a long moment of thought, I eventually came to a decision...one that I might regret...or one that may just propel me to higher status within the Kingdom of Vampires, and effectively erase the bad memory of being put down by Count Dracula. I no longer want to be just a pawn under him...it is high time to walk out of his shadow, and do something that no vampire would ever dare to dream of even doing...and that is to defy the Count Dracula. I have promised myself that I would ensure that the Kingdom of Vampires would not collapsed under any circumstances, and I would fulfill my promise...even if it involves incurring the wrath of Count Dracula, for my love for the Kingdom of Vampires far exceeds that of my respect for Count Dracula...a respect that is gradually ebbing away as the pain in my heart grew stronger...

Welcome...to the world of darkness

Dear Lucy,

First and foremost, welcome to the family of the vampires, the un-dead. This will be the genesis of a new chapter in your life. Forget the past, it is no longer relevant or important. Instead, as a new member of the un-dead, look ahead to a new and exciting journey in a life that will never end!(If you are careful enough, that is, and I shall espouse on that later on) Although all these may seem surreal to you, but harbour no doubt, because all that is happening to you now is REAL my dear, REAL, and now, under the instruction of my master, I am to educate you on how to live your new UNLIFE...

It is my duty and pleasure to inform you that as a member of the un-dead, you will enjoy everlasting youth, fuelled with the invigorating human blood. The blood will keep you young and ravishing, as what are now, till eternity. But please note, however, that once every two days is the optimum rate in which you should consume human blood, and for female vampires like you, the blood of the opposite sex is the most suitable.

Next, remember to keep your movement as secretive as possible, and once you have chosen your prey, do what you have to do swiftly, without any hesitation. Because the longer you take to finish your meal, the more dangerous your position will be, and I am sure the last thing you want is to have vampire-slayers hot on your heels.

Nevertheless, if you do meet a vampire-slayer, do not lose your nerve. Because if you do, you are merely boosting his or her confidence in capturing you. Use your agility to escape, and this usually works when facing amateur vampire-slayers, who are largely incompetent fools that prowl the streets every night, trying their luck in spotting a vampire or two who may be too caught up in their meals. However, you may be glad to learn that they usually go home empty-handed, for they are no match for our speed. Make good use of that precious endowment, my dear. Dealing with more experienced vampire-slayers tends to be much more strenuous and taxing, or challenging if you like. A gruelling battle is inevitable, but we are usually the ones on the victorious side as other fellow vampires lurking in the vicinity may offer timely help if they should sense any trouble. This puts the vampire-slayer at a huge disadvantage, being a handicapped fight with us being on the upper-hand. From my personal experience, under such circumstances, our foe will usually throw in the towel and choose to escape rather than fight.

Another important point to note is that you are to keep away from items like garlic, crucifix, holy water or any other things that are God-related. These are considered bad omens and your newfound powers will be rendered completely useless in their presence.... and you are nothing without these powers. Remember too, to always return to your sanctuary before dawn as sunlight is our most powerful enemy, alongside the annoying vampire-slayers. We will disintegrate and vanish into thin air if we should be exposed to the sunlight. However, even if you managed to escape miraculously from that painful demise, you would undoubtedly become greatly weakened by the experience, and only a huge amount of human blood can rejuvenate you.

Last but not least, keep in mind our motto: To be the rulers of the world, we must be merciless. Show mercy to no one, show no sympathy. Empathy is not a word that should be found in a vampire's dictionary. It is the antithesis of our existence. Even if your last meal cost you your lover, grieve not. Because soon after, he will just be like one of us. We are blood-thirsty creatures that aspire to dominate the world, to recreate the world in our image, but not to eliminate the entire human race altogether. Because by eliminating them, we will be destroying ourselves. We need human blood to revitalize us, remember? And thus, wiping them out is not on the cards.

With the above, your journey as a vampire officially begins from this very moment my dear. Take careful notice of all that I have said, for they will prove invaluable someday... trust me on that.

"A vampire lives in a constant state of desire and disgust. His nature often revolts him, but he doesn't have the will to deny his indulgences. There's the killing, but there's also the pleasure, the sensuality, the lust. The sheer ecstasy of it all."

The Victim...

I have finally chosen my meal for today - a young and ravishing girl in her 20s, blue eyes, fair skin, a typical English girl.

Just too bad.

Concealed behind a tree, I waited patiently. Soon, there would be yet another of my kind...and it would multiply and multiply...and vampires would finally dominate the world...SOON

Well camouflaged in the darkness due to my black clothing, I held my breath as she drew closer. My anticipation grew with every step that she took. Finally, when she was close enough, I made my move.

The next moment - I was already sinking my fangs into her neck...helpless as she was, she screamed at the top of her lungs, breaking the dead silence of the night.

Her scream soon grew softer and softer with every second, until silence once again embraced the night - another human is going to be added to the growing list of human-turned-vampire...
Satisfied and refreshed, I dumped the carcass of the body in a safe place before leaving with an evil grin on my face...I am soon to be back in my beloved castle, sleeping in the warm but comfortable coffin of mine again...

With incredible agility, I leapt from building to building, and under the bright moonlight, I vanished stealthily into the darkness of the night...craving for my well-deserved sleep...

A New Beginning...

I am born a vampire, one who doesn't like to socialize much. That is why I don't have many friends, maybe not even one. But that doesn't matter. It doesn't bother me much. Because I am not born into this world to make friends, that, is not my objective. I am making use of this blog to make one point clear as crystal: I AM DANGEROUS, as simple as that.

I am not a vampire who likes to joke much. In fact, I HATE jokes. My diet consists of only drinks, and only one, yes, one, particular type of drink, and that to me, is heaven. I am going to tell you what the drink is, but don't be too taken aback by it, because you shouldn't be when you are talking about a vampire's diet. Some may have already guessed it, but that doesn't matter, because I am not going to give them a prize for it. To those ignorant few, it is HUMAN BLOOD that interests me most.

Yes, you didn't see it wrongly. Human Blood. Pure, red and juicy human blood.

Everyday, you see reports of missing people in the newspaper. Most of that, I say, was the result of the doing by me and my fellow vampires. I am the proud owner of a pair of long and razor-sharp fangs, and after sucking my victim's blood with them, I would dump the body in a safe place...and hours later, he or she will be an addition to our large family of vampires...

After every meal, I would feel energetic, revitalized, and being the young and handsome side of me...again! Sucking human blood gives me an indescribable great feeling that is second to none, loving and enjoying every moment of it!

Furthermore, I can metamorphosis into the form of a wolf or a bat...and the unique features that separates ME from you humans are that I have no reflection in the mirror and casts no shadow... so don't ever be too shell-shocked if you see me standing right in front of your very eyes without a reflection in the mirror. However, if you do see me, count yourself lucky, as you are about to unfold a new chapter in your life, and one that I am sure YOU will never regret...

As you are reading my blog now, I may be searching and preying on my target...my meal for today...Therefore, don't look back, because you may well be the prey that I am referring to. If it is really you, don't be scared, but feel honoured instead, as I am quite a choosy drinker...

So, be warned, YOU may just be the next victim...
